It is with great sadness that we inform you that long-time member and former BvH Club Secretary Lynne Gossage passed away yesterday, 27 May 2013. We will remember Lynne for her warm, welcoming nature and her passion for running and for the club. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this sad time.
EDIT: Lynne’s Funeral will take place at 12 noon, Friday 14th June at Lodge Hill Crematorium in Weoley Castle with a reception to follow from 1pm at Rowheath Pavilion. Lynne’s family have asked that donations be made to either MacMillan Nurses or St Mary’s Hospice in lieu of flowers.

We were so sorry to hear about the lovely Lynne. She was always very kind, so supportive of new runners and all members of the running club. I always remember her talking so fondly about her family, their weddings and her lovely husband. Her bubbly laugh will be very much missed. Helen & Paul Foot x
I am not a runner, but greatly admired Lynn that she was one. My team are are her funeral now, and I was just looking up, and reflecting on, her achievements when I found this site. Lynn was a joy to work with, and will be missed by us all here at Medical School.

So sorry to hear the sad news about Lynne. I remember her as a determined runner and friendly, smiling lady. Thinking of you all.
So sad that this should happen to someone with such a zest for life. It was Lynne talking about how she started running that inspired me to think that I could run too after years of watching other people run. She was always encouraging and helped us step up from the beginners course to the club runs. We miss you very much and send our sympathies to her family.
Lynne showed such determination towards her running that she could achieve anything she put her mind to, a real inspiration.
We shared great times with her both in running and socially, we remember Lynne and Mike taking no prisoners when we had beer and skittles evenings! There were also lots of smiles and laughs shared over a half of Guiness or 2 on club nights.
We are thinking of Lynne’s family and friends both now and in the coming weeks.
very sad news about Lynn. She was a such a lovely lady . My thoughts, prayers and sympathies are with her family. Rest in Peace Lynn. xx
I’m so sorry to hear of this news. I knew Lynne from Bournville, where she was always a cheerful supporter and an inspiration to keep going through injury. I also knew her through work, where she was calm and organised, and helped our team through a difficult time. She will be greatly missed.
Such sad news for a lovely woman. It seemed to me that she was always smiling and always cheerful with a great sense of humour. She genuinely inspired a number of runners, and especially women runners at the club. She will be missed.
We were both so sorry to hear the sad news about Lynne and send our love and thoughts to her family. She was such a lovely person, always had time for chat and will be missed by all her running friends enormously.

I am absolutely shocked to hear this sad news. Lynne was always there to help me when I first started running at the club, and was an absolute treasure in helping me when I took over from her as Club Secretary. She will be sorely missed and my thoughts are with her friends and family.
Such sad news Sympathies to her family and friends.
i heard that when Lynn joined she asked if it was ok for “old ladies” to join. As the policy of BvH is and always has been that everyone runs, she was welcomed.
She has been poorly with one thing and another for quite a while now so some of you may not realise that Lynn used to do the sat x country training and she ran for the club at x country and in the road relays. she wooped my ass a few times when i first started when i underestimated her because she was older than me, which of course she loved 🙂
she was a great club member as a runner and on the committee and a lovely lady.
Sad news, Lynne was a lovely lady, always there to cheer you on.
