Lesley Pymm reports: I think I was the only person from BvH out at West Bromwich last night – were you all saving yourselves for the Killer Mile?
Fortunately the weather was a bit cooler than the previous day, and there was a bit of a breeze at times. It could have been much harder. It is a tough little course – many will know it from the XCs.
This is a 2.5 lap course around playing fields. It does not go through the woods like the XC course, but otherwise is much the same.
The prizes for the first 3 male and female were really good this year. The race was sponsered by Runners Need and they gave vouchers for prizes. First prize was a pair of running shoes. Category prizes were bottles of sparkling wine.
This is a really friendly run, with a real ale bar afterwards. What more could anyone ask for on a summers evening?
As a multi-terraine/off the road Course it can`t count for official record purposes.I have run it on a number of occasions and agree with Lesley that it is a `tough little course.`Nevertheless,it is a great way to spend a summer`s evening, and at the very least it is a very good training run!(Put it in your diary for next year – it is friendly, well run and LOCAL).Congratulations Lesley on successfully competing the 2012 West Bromwich 5k Race, and once again `flying the flag` for BvH.
