Barrie Roberts Reports: On a cold and foggy Sunday Morning, my wife Katie and I set off for Cardiff (WALES). I ran in my first race of 2017. Fortunately, it was an indoor meeting i.e. twice round to complete the 400m. There was a lot of `hanging about`, as the heat I was participating in didn`t start until 5:45pm.There were three age cats in my particular race (M65,M70 and M75). I won my age cat and returned to the Midlands with a Gold Medal (I had exected a Silver!)
My time was 84.93i (see Power of 10).

I enjoyed the occasion, watched by my wife Katie and daughter Helen, and was pleased to have made a start to my 2017 athletic endeavours — And avoided injury. Also, it was good to meet up with other friends/acquaintances from British Masters Athletics. My hope is that I may have done enough to compete in the Inter-Area T&F Indoor Champs at Lee Valley (LONDON) on 26th of this month — but that`s up to the
selectors!
Thankyou for the kind comments/support. The Welsh Selectors have asked me to run in the 400m and Sprint Relays at the Inter-Area due to be held at Lee Valley (London) next weekend. ie.We run in our respective age categories.
PS. Members of Midland Vets (Men/Women) will be there and it would be good to see more BvHers getting involved and participating. Masters events include T&F (Outdoor/Indoor),5k/10k/ Half Marathon/Marathon road races,XC etc /Participation,as well as performance,is valued.
