Ever wondered how yoga could help you with your running?
On Thursday 21st August Emily Holden will be giving a talk about her experiences of practising yoga over the last seven years and the benefits she has found for preventing injury, aiding recovery and reducing stiffness.
There will be an opportunity to try out some simple yoga poses that you might find useful to add to your usual running and stretching routine. Please bring a mat, or if you can’t get hold of one contact Emily (emily_bvh@yahoo.com) as she may be able to get hold of some extras.
Emily is keen to point out she is NOT a yoga teacher, just happy to share her enthusiasm for yoga with fellow runners!
When? 6-7pm, Thursday August 21st
Where? Upstairs room, Rowheath Pavilion
What? A talk and interactive yoga session
Who? The talk is open to all current members of Bournville Harriers
Numbers will be limited due to the size of the room, so please sign up below.
Emily Holden has been a member of BvH for several years. She is currently the membership secretary on the BvH committee and has played an active role in the club throughout her time here. She is an accomplished member of both the cross country and road relay teams, has raced over distances from 5k to the marathon (sub 4hr), and has a sub 1.45 half-marathon time. She is also very modest which is why I wrote this bit for her!
Anyone coming along to the yoga session on Thursday, don’t forget to bring a mat! (If you can’t get hold of one let Emily know.) Also, if you are able to bring any of the following, please do so: blanket, belt or strap (something like a dressing gown belt or cord would work well), an old style telephone directory (the chunkier the better) or similar sized text book. Intrigued?
