Lesley Pymm reports: Having entered the Eric Humphries XC two weeks ago, I discovered that I was able to enter the Police and Services League – running for the Prison/Civil Service team. I won’t run enough to count in the League this season, but I’ll find out a bit more about the events so that I can compete next year! The event at Milford was not a spikes course. It was pretty much the same as the old Milford Murder course that I know and love. More of a trail run of just over 5 miles.
Starting at Milford Common we ran uphill and then down and onto the loop that I know. Twice around the loop and then there was the hard climb back out again and down to the finish (I had been really disappointed when this was cut out of the Milford Murder a few years ag0). This was a small event, so no surprise that I was near to the end. Enjoyable run and good to get out on a Wednesday afternoon and get a race in.
The next event in a couple of weeks will be in Chesterfield. I have never run there before, so that should be good. Again – not a spikes course.
`allo`,`allo`,`allo` —- What have we here?
Did they apprehend the murderer at Milford?
5 mile trail run on a Wednesday afternoon. Can`t be bad.
Good luck Lesley for next year`s Police and Services League.
