RESULTS are in. Over 170 runners braved the wet conditions to run our Leafy 10k with Bournville Harriers scoring a one-two.
There were 176 runners in total. Dean Parker won the race in 35:02 with second place Rob Andrew almost 90 seconds back in 36:30. First woman was Lindsay Smith in 42:12.
There are plenty of photos now online. Paul Foot’s set is the most comprehensive but there is a smaller set here as well. Either set is published under a Creative Commons license which means you can download and print the photos as you see fit.
The club would like to acknowledge the support it received from Up & Running and Cadbury and is hugely grateful to everyone who took part or supported on such on a wet day – you made our event a tremendous success. Thanks too to the race marshalls.
Paul Bradley of the Birmingham Mail has written a race report on his blog.
(PS: someone left behind a car key. Please contact us if you think it is yours)
Congratulations Andrew,
On winning the Kingsbury 10k in a time 35.14
Well done to all who took part.
I would have raced but decided to opt for a tougher race with x country coming up so did the Kingsbury 10k. I’ll do a report on that when I have chance. That was tough with a capital ‘T’!!!
Next year I’ll do it and shake things up a bit!
A really fantastic event! huge thanks (from all the BRATs who took part) to the organisers, marshalls and all the supporteers who braved the weather, and still kept up the encouragement and support. Well organised and tough race.
Look forward to the next Bournville Harriers epic!
