The leafy 10k was subject to a course alteration due to roadworks on the original course. The new course proved to be slightly long however as the event is multi-terrain people will be aware that the distance isn’t always accurate. 172 runners toed the start line, ready to take on the challenging course which had some testing hills and good scenery. The weather couldn’t be nicer for an October autumn day. The men’s race was won with an impressive sprint finish with Nick Lewis of Birmingham running and Triathlon club coming first in 38:43, Tim street of Horsforth Harriers finishing second in 38:44 followed by Jonathan Carter in third place 39:17. In the women’s race Nicola Sykes of Bournville Harriers came first (and an impressive 5th overall) in 40:01, followed by Rachel Pounds of Bolton United Harriers 44:39, third was taken by Rosie Davis of Birmingham Running and Triathlon club in 46:03.
A huge thanks goes out to all marshals, organisers and helpers on the day, the race wouldn’t be possible without your amazing efforts.
The club is always looking to improve the events we host and make them more enjoyable, if you have any ideas how we can improve the race day experience please email racecoordinator@bournvilleharriers.org.uk
Also thanks to all the volunteers, helpers and Bakers who helped out yesterday, the day wouldn’t have been such a success (and yummy) without you all.
Thank you to Bournville Harriers for organising and marshalling the race yesterday. I can’t say I had the most enjoyable race (under prepared, all my own fault) but I certainly felt a sense of achievement in crossing the finishing line!
A great BvH day…………….well done to Jon Mac and all his team – fantastic event, fantastic weather………and dare I suggest a better course than the usual 10k trek ?!!
Proud to be a BvH’er to day.

Yep, I had it at 6.5 miles. Great run, thanks Bournville. Very chuffed to win my first ever running prize, for first in age group! I’ll pop along on Monday to collect.
Great event, thanks to the organisers & marshals for their time & effort & the water volunteers (much needed!) can only hope it’s not that warm for the half
I clocked it at 10.5k
It was just over 6.5miles I believe. So closer to 10.5k.
People’s Garmin devices were saying around 10.5km (6.5 miles, give or take) 🙂 Well done today!
Great event. Many thanks to those who marshalled and gave up their time.
Does anyone know how far it was today? Im guessing around 12k?
