From Anna Ostojitsch: Forest of Dean parkrun is a real hidden gem in the crown of parkrun. The runner’s brief informs the visitor that it is a parkrun that is not in a park because they don’t have one.
A 2 lap course in amongst the trees and trails of the forest, yet it doesn’t feel like a two lap as they vary the route the laps take. It is fully off road I would recommend trail shoes for this one, but it is the off road nature that gives this route its character. It is fully covered by the forest trees and as such it is a particular beautiful route, but surprisingly flat so a perfect introduction to trail running for those that are undecided whether or not it is something they would like to do off-roading.
A definite must revisit for us and look forward to hearing of others exploring this simply charming parkrun
Yes, that is on my bucket list. I have done a number of other runs in the FoD and look forward to this one.
