Having taken part in the regional and national Road Relays last year we have once again been able to secure 12 free places for the Vitality London 10,000 to be shared between the men’s and women’s teams.
More than 12,000 runners take part in the race, which was founded in 2008. The route features some of London’s most famous sights, beginning on The Mall, passing Nelson’s Column, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Bank of England, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey before the finish line at Buckingham Palace. The race features the British 10k Championships and past winners include Britain’s double Olympic champion Mo Farah (winner for five successive years) and Mary Keitany (Kenya), twice London Marathon champion.
Club places are offered in the first instance to those who ran in last year’s relays and, in the event of over subscription, priority will be given to those who participated in the greatest number of events. Please note the race is the day after the Great Birmingham 10k & if you take up a place you are responsible for your own transport to the event. If you would like to be considered for a place please contact Simeon Whiting (men’s team) or Jude Glynn (women’s team).
