Barrie Roberts reports: A really good turn-out (165 runners) for this week’s 5k Parkrun at Cannon Hill, Birmingham.
Having run/raced the previous five consecutive days (ie. The BvH Tour of Bournville), I was more than content to be on marshall duty – and in my favourite spot just before the 1 mile mark. There were some good and encouraging performances from the 7 BvH participants.
Gary Blackman, Orlando Corea and Linda Goley ran PBs and Lesley Byrne was just 5 secs outside hers. Lesley Pymm had a sound run just having returned from cycling in France (I’m not sure whether or not she was in the Tour de France!) . Martin Foster ran well, coming back after an injury niggle.
Congratulations to everyone who successfully completed the 5k distance. It was good to see Gary Blackman cross the Finishing Line first in a time of 16:35, closely followed by Orlando Corea and then Michael Ungurs ie. three BvHers in the first ten finishers. I hope that I haven’t missed anyone.
Well done to Linda Goley, who (in her second parkrun) got a PB. Linda, this must mean you are improving all the time. Great stuff!
