Lesley Pymm reports: I think I was the only person from BvH there this year – if I missed you, I apologise. For the last few years this event has been a bit longer as a bridge had been washed away in the floods in 2007.
It has now been reinstated and we were back to the original route. It starts with a really long downhill, to get the old legs used to running again (especially after the XC the day before). Then there is a mile or two along the riverside, so it is usually a bit muddy there. This year did not disappoint!
We then run an undulating loop through the forest and come back to the river before starting the long climb back to the Visitors Centre. It was a good day for it. Fairly mild and a bit of drizzle to cool us down.
I was pleased with my time which turned out to be slightly faster than the last time I did the course in 2006, when I was some years younger than I am now! Great run and good food at the cafe at the finish!

One of my favourite races 🙂
I was 24 minutes slower than previously but it was my first run this year after 6 months off with a back injury! Stella ran 70 minutes, also down on previous times after 6 weeks off with a broken toe. Hmm, think I’ll be forming an injury club where nobody ever runs!
