Bone Health and Injury Risk Study

We have been contacted by Loughborough University to see if any of our endurance runners would be interested in having their bone health and injury risk assessed.

To participate, you need to:

  • Have participated competitively in only distance running as your main sport for three years or more.
  • Engage with 4 hours or more of running per week
  • Be aged 14-50 years
  • Be free of injury and engaging in regular training

You will not be able to participate in this study if any of the following criteria apply to you:

  • You use medications that substantively affect bone health.
  • You have any medical conditions that affect bone health.
  • You have pins/plates in any limbs.
  • You are a female participant who is pregnant or has been breastfeeding for the previous six months.
  • Current smoker or vaper
