For anyone thinking of joining the club, we recommend a minimum requirement of being able to comfortably run/jog 5 km (this is our shortest club route), within 40 minutes.
If you are going to join us for a run it would be very helpful if you could email the newcomers’ co-ordinator prior to your visit at firstname.lastname@example.org – so we can try to arrange a suitable pace group for you to run with.
If you have never run before but fancy giving it a go, you might want to consider joining our popular Beginners’ Course. This is held in the spring and caters for the complete beginner or anyone who is coming back to running after a long absence.
Experienced runners, looking for a new club and a new challenge are always very welcome. If you are coming to us from another club, please contact our Membership Secretary at email@example.com or speak to John Cheel on a club night for information about how to transfer your first claim to Bournville Harriers. You still need to do this even if you haven’t paid membership fees to your old club for a while.
There’s no need to join the Club immediately as we’d prefer you to come along and run with us for a few weeks, to help you decide if we can give you the running experience that you seek, before parting with your hard earned cash. You can find our current membership rates here.
Please note that only paid-up members of Bournville Harriers are covered by the club’s insurance, so if you come along for a run with us before you join, you agree to undertake this at your own risk.
