Cross country: Leamington, Saturday 10th of November

The first league race of the season is almost upon us! Both the Ladies and Men are racing on Saturday 10th of November at Newbold Comyn in Leamington.

The race starts at 1:30pm, we shall be meeting at the club at 11:30am for anyone who wants to share lifts. Leamington is a lovely course and an excellent one to start the 2012/2013 season.

If you are interested or would like more information please contact me, Nicola Cumley or Rob Andrew for the men.

  1. I’ll be coming and can take up to 3 people. Will be at Rowheath at 11.30. How long is the mens course?

  2. Just in case you’re not sure how to get there the link to the race with directions etc is http://bitly.com/SiHvU1 or http://www.birminghamccleague.co.uk/images/stories/bdccl/articlepdfs/race_details/bdxcl_2012_r1_directions_v2.pdf (see Events and Races section).

The men’s race is at 2:30 and I’d ask that we meet by 1:30 so I can distribute race numbers leaving plenty of time to warm-up and also to cheer on the ladies. Just a reminder that each runner needs to wear their club vest, and must be a paid up member. If any queries please speak to me on Monday night, or via email. Look forward to seeing you there Saturday.

  3. I echo what Barrie has said – this is a great occasion. For those who have not done XC before – please just get out there and give it a go, I am sure you will then find yourself rushing off to buy some XC spikes as you are hooked. The women run first and then, at the first event, there is the amazing sight of all the 3 divisions of men running together. The start of the men’s event is awesome (not a word I frequently use)! Not to be missed. Also remember that in both the men’s and women’s event we need the older runners too, for the Master’s competition which is part of the main one. If you are not one of the faster runners, that does not matter – we need to pack out the field with teal to keep other teams back.

  4. Alas, this year,I shall miss the XC at Newbold Comyn in Leamington due to a running commitment in N Ireland, but I do hope that there will be a large sea of teal moving through the field. Please support the Team Managers Nicola and Rob by either running or being in attendance. It will be a very special occasion and one not to be missed.Good luck to all BvH participants;especially to those running XC for the first time.
