Stourbridge Stumble 13 August 2011

Lesley Pymm reports: There was a small representation from BvH at the Stourbridge Stumble on Saturday. Three runners and two timekeepers!

It was a good event as usual. The weather was dry and the sandy section was, well, sandy!! Last year it had rained immediately prior to the start and this had dampened the sand so that it was easier to run on. Not so this year! The weather was fairly warm and, even in the woods, there was not much air around.

I don’t know what it is like at the front where Steve was, but at the back it is pretty friendly and everyone looks after eachother out there. It is a good run with very little road at the start and finish.

Steve and Nicola had good times and I was pleased with my time too as it was considerably faster than last year. I think I may have been taking it a bit easy last year as I had a 100 mile cycle event the day after – well this year I had the 100 miles in my legs as I did that the previous weekend, so I was well pleased! Thanks to Sue for timekeeping!
