Olympic role for Bournville’s Dan Bird

One of our club members, Dan Bird, has been chosen to run with the Olympic Torch in the build up to this year’s Olympics.

Dan will carry the torch for 300 metres on Sunday 24th June in Marsh, near Huddersfield, en route from Salford to Leeds. Dan studies in Birmingham and has run regularly for the club. You can read more in the Bury Times.

Well done Dan!

Also: Two BvHers ran in 5 miles Olympic Park run last Saturday. The race was around the new olympic park and finished in the stadium. Andy Wheeler completed the course in 32:20 and Aine Garvey ran 43:45.
