Cheers for the comment Kelley. Caroline and I agreed afterward that this may well have been the friendliest and best-organised race we have ever taken part in. We would highly recommend it to other BvHers who might be interested next year. It was not exactly a flat course (at least not for the first half) and the second half was a bit reminiscent of the Greenway bit of the Stratford Marathon route (except that it went on for 13 miles like that!) so not necessarily the best for PB potential.

That said, anyone interested in a nice weekend away to take part in a friendly, well-marshalled marathon or half marathon this time next year should look no further. We're planning to do it again, and hopefully my legs won't decide to cramp up at 18 miles next year...
