Middle Distance Track Race Reports

Barrie Roberts reports on some recent races:

I`ve `struggled to get going` with my middle distance running this year ,but I did run a couple of races last weekend in Nottingham and in The Black Country.

Friday 25th August 2017

Tim Wealhall Mile(s) – 1 Mile (track) at Notts AC
Mile  7:12.8      3rd Place  (1st in Age Category)

Saturday 26th August 2017

3,000m  14:07.8   8th Place         Tipton Harriers Open

With appropriate rest/recovery and training strategies, I anticipate that I will be able to improve on these times! My next middle distance race (1500m) will be in about a week`s time – unless I am advised to the contrary!

  1. Well spotted Tony! Yes,rehydration is very important;especially if one is running in very warm conditions, and running longer mileages than middle distance. Thankyou for your encouragement.
    PS. Adam`s Ale (H2O) is an excellent drink ! Hic,Hic,Hic,Hic ——- Hic

  2. Well done Barrie! Good running! Looking at your accompanying picture though, I notice that you take rather more than the customary water bottle with you for rehydration!
