Mid-week Series – event 1: Hagley 10k, 19th May

This is the first time I have done this event, and as I ran around the first lap wondering what on earth I was doing there on such a warm evening it all seemed remarkably familiar.

Much of it is the route of the Stourbridge Stumble – including that steep sandy hill (twice!)  By the time I got into the second lap I was really enjoying it.  It was hard, but runable and some really good downhills where you could get your legs moving.  Lots of dog walkers to be avoided.  Sponsored by SiS, so we got bits and pieces of energy gels etc.  I did see a couple of teal vest out there, but did not see who was in them!  There were at least two others from BvH there.

(The other BVH’ers were Paul Dugmore + Terry Doherty – they faught a hard battle, Terry coming out on top by just 10 secs, if I remember correctly!. Results not yet up but these are great races, check them out at:
