Lesley Pymm reports: Where were you all? There is usually a good turn out from BvH at this annual 5 miler, and the first race in the Warwickshire Road Race League. I think I was the only one there, unless anyone was in mufty??
This is a potentially fast race that takes place (mainly) within the War Memorial Park in Coventry. It was slightly different this year, with a small loop first and then two large laps. This made it slightly longer – I made it almost 5.25 miles, but that was fine.
I was not going very well, I must admit! I had run a 1/2M the week before and then did this wierd 4 hour walk event on the track at the Alexander Stadium on Wednesday (17.38 miles) so I was feeling a bit tired. I think in the circumstances I did pretty well, although I was disappointed with my time of 48.24.
This is a good event – a useful goody bag – an actual bag that you can use, KitKat, banana, satsuma, mints and water. There are also showers and a cafe. Friendly event, well organised – what more can I say?
