UPDATE: John Barry has now published his pictures from the race.
John adds: ‘Sorry if I missed you, or your photo is blurred, but my poor camera went into overload, and couldn’t cope with the number of photos quickly enough. I also missed the first part of the prize giving, because I didn’t realise that no-one else was taking any photos.’
Bournville Harriers’ annual Killer Mile race will take place at 7:45pm on Thursday, 26 July. The race is a mile long and almost entirely uphill, starting at the bottom of Clare Hill with the finish conveniently located right by the Peacock Inn.
The BvH Committee has decided that this year the race will be held in memory of Joe Lewis, who was a fixture at the top of the hill at this yearly event. We have decided to open up the event to members of BRAT this year as well, so that Joe’s friends within that club can also run up a very steep hill in his memory.
If you wish to take part, please register on the night at the Peacock car park (Icknield Street, B38 0EH). The race is free to enter and people will be meeting at the top of the hill from around 7pm. There will be no official club training on the night.

Although no longer a signed up member, I am happy to help out – if insurance allows!
Can I put out a request for help marshalling this event. If you won’t be running and would be available to help out can you please let me know either on here or by mailing me on marcusuno@gmail.com
Thank you
Mark
Pleased to learn that BRAT members have been invited to participate on this special occasion.I expect that there will be a good turnout, and for those who are not actually running, vocal support and additional marshalls on the night will enhance the proceedings and make it even safer for the participants. It is,as Mark L has suggested,a unique `Race`. Hopefully, summer will have arrived by the 26th July!

I encourage every single member of the club to run this race. it is without doubt one the most unique races you could ever run, and especially as this year we will be remembering Joe. So please come along and make it a great night to remember
