Barrie Roberts reports: Marie and Martin Foster along with Katie and Barrie Roberts recently returned from running and/or competing in the Algarve, Portugal.
Katie, Marie and Martin were running most days at 7.30am prompt. Barrie was resting at such an early hour! Many of early morning runs were on a 2k lap XC Course quarter of a mile away from the Alfamar Beach and Sports Resort (very popular with runners and sportsmen/women). Katie and Marie went on walks most afternoons.
Martin ran twice daily and must have run on over 30 occasions during his stay which included three races. Barrie, recovering from ‘some sort of virus’ ran on 7 occasions and `competed` in three races.
BvH were represented on three occasions and the Results were as follows:-
Falesia 5k Road Race held on 12th March,2011
Martin Foster M55 BvH 22.54
Barrie Roberts M65 BvH 25.40

Numerous BvHers have gone to Portugal in recent years and it is a splendid location to run, walk, swim and train. The weather during March is usually warm and sunny.
The complete Race Results for the above mentioned events should be available, in time, on Power of 10 and/or West Cheshire AC ebsite.
PS. I hope that Martin will add his comments to this short Report as he is the `expert` on the Algarve as a place to run, walk and train — And holiday! It was so good this year, to once again, meet so many of our friends from other running clubs, both home and abroad.
