BMAF XC Relay Championships – 24 Ocotober 2015

BMAF XC Relays 2015Lesley Pymm reports:  This was the first time we had used the venue at Long Eaton for the BMAF XC Relays, and we did not really know what to expect.  The course was not bad.  It started off going round the perimeter of playing fields and then went into some woods before coming out onto the flood defences which were followed back to the start/finish area.  I managed to do a lap as a warm up to check it out and knew what was coming.  It was only 3k, so a real sprint!

We had three teams entered 2 x W35 and 1 x W55.  Unfortunately, owing to injury, the W35B team was incomplete.  Everyone ran really well.  Some were having their first taste of XC, whilst others were veterens of it.  There was lots of shouting around the course for BvH as usual.

BMAF XC Relays 2015 2There was a lot of confusion at the end and it took ages to get the results right and the presentations done.  Liz Lepa had a medal for doing the fastest W55 leg (14.16).  Our W35A team was 7th and the W55 team was 4th, so a respectable showing amongst some of the big names who were there.
