The third Birmingham Half Marathon will take place on Sunday 24th October 2010 at 9.30am. There’s a slightly altered route that makes it a bit more of an out and back route but it should still offer the chance of some PBs.
The new route takes in less of Bournville with runners coming onto Bournville Lane from Pershore road, passing the Cadbury factory before turning left onto Linden road and then left again onto Maryvale road and back into Stirchley. Before returning to the finish in Broad street the runners will face a tough climb through Edgbaston, taking in some of the 2008 half marathon route.
Last year saw over a 100 club members take part with the stand out performance being that of Mel James who was 6th woman overall in a time of 1:23:04, setting a new club record.
