Ashby 20 Miles 21 March 2010

Lesley Byrne reports:  The club was well represented at this Midlands 20 miler.

Day started off misty and we were shivering on the start line,  however by mid morning it really was very hot and the predicted sunny intervals, were more long sunny periods. Complete contrast to pouring rain at relays yesterday.

The race consists of two loops which meander through pretty countryside and little villages – it is deceptively undulating though this does help pass the miles away.

Very well organised race – lots of friendly marshalls providing jelly babies, gels, water, sponges and thankfully for me a large pot of Vaseline.  The BVH crop top though fashion couture at its best, unfortunately was cutting into my bingo wings.

The race finishes in a little field with a great goody bag with nice food and sweatshirt.

I thoroughly recommend this as a pre marathon training run – a scattering of PB’s today(did I mention mine?)

P.S our resident photographer was running today, photos will be available at Mick Hall website
