Know of any races?
– August 24, 2010Posted in: Announcements

There’s a couple of races next Sunday (I know – it’ s April Fools Day, but hopefully they will take place!). Firstly, Peopleton Scenic Six – multi-terrain (but not too difficult) around Peopleton in Worcestershire. Probably about 45-50 minutes from Rowheath and an 11am start. £10 on the day for club runners. More details on the Camba Events website. Same day is the Cotswold Spring 10k, from the Village Hall in Temple Guiding – postcode GL54 5RT, and a 10.30am start. Lovely course, particularly if the weather’s fine. There is a limit of 250 runners for this though, but you can enter online through Runners World (I think).
Oops, said Lichfield, meant Leamington. Lichfield Half is already on there.
Hi,
I never noticed the last two posts on thus thread, so my apologies for not putting the Lichfield 10k or Two Castles 10k in the diary. I’ve just added a bunch of races over the next couple of months and am going to add whatever else I can find on the runnersworld site over the next couple of days.
Does anyone know of any other local races that members might be interested in? I’ll add them this time
Thanks,
Chris
My man In the know ( ie Mike Shally) tells me only few places left for club runners at two castles 10km. Also good 10km Leamington 11th April entry early for both events.
There is the Two Castles Run on June 12th. This is a 10k run between Warwick and Kenilworth Castles.

Grizzly entries have opened today – if anyone is interested I suggest you get a move on as they will probably close within the week. Grizzly 2011 is on 13 March and is called ‘Valley of the Bogs’. It is about 20 miles of beach, bog, cliffs, fields and is my favourite run every year. It is in Seatpn, East Devon. Entries via http://www.axevalleyrunners.org.uk There is a shorter Cub Run of about 8 or 9 miles for those not up to the main run. Also some children’s runs on the Saturday.
Newcastle Dales Dash on 5 December 2010 @ 11.00. 10k, off road and based at Apedale Country Park.

yes yes yes, their many races, catering for all tastes and in different sizes, but let’s not kid ourselves, though they can be useful for working up an appetite, they are merely a preamble to the main event.
So perhaps we should be asking…….Know any cakes?

Anyone know of anymore? They are appearing in the Race Diary now.
There’s no problem with anyone using whatever site they like to keep up to date with runs. I do want our calendar to be useful as well though. Am currently trying to find the time to update it with the above suggestions and others – watch this space.
yeah but lesley – i think dave is trying to get people to come here for their info rather than to other club’s web sites
I always find http://www.dk10k.co.uk the best source for local runs, entry forms, results and pictures.
The “Birmingham Canal Canter – 26 miles” is
on Sat 18th Sep and was advertised in the Evening Mail.

It is for runners and long distance walkers.
Mark, I think it’s a good Idea to do a marathon on the sad old running track,
It raises It’s profile and perhaps could lead to some maintenance being carried out, as a running club we should have more than a passing interest here. Excuse me if we’ve been here before
Everyone, on a more serious note, I think there’s a race in London in april, It gets a bit crowded though.
Alternately there is a couple of dreary publications that have loads of races in the back, but don’t go treating WH Smiths like
a public library, your not on the train now you know* and you’re not reading Metro News.
*unless you are
